How Impact On Works

Impact On is a South African platform that lets donors give to local community projects instantly by scanning a QR code and paying with Apple Pay or Google Pay.

1. Scan

A donor opens their phone camera and scans the QR code at the project — café till, gym wall, school noticeboard.

2. Choose an amount

A clean donation page opens on impacton.co.za. No app, no signup, no card details typed.

3. Tap to pay

Apple Pay or Google Pay authorises the gift with Face ID, fingerprint or PIN. The whole flow takes under ten seconds.

4. Funds reach the project

Donations are collected centrally by Impact On (a registered NGO in South Africa) and paid out to each project on a regular schedule with a full audit trail.

What donors pay

Donors pay exactly the amount they choose. There are no added fees, no service charges, and no hidden costs. Payment is processed by Apple Pay or Google Pay using a one-time token — your real card number is never sent to the merchant, and every transaction is biometrically authorised.

How payouts work

Impact On maintains a 95% donation policy — 95% of every donation goes directly to the project, with the remaining 5% covering payment processing and operations. Donors can also choose to cover those fees, meaning 100% of their gift reaches the cause. Donations collect centrally and pay out to each project on a regular schedule. Every payout is accompanied by a line-by-line audit trail so the project knows which donations made up the payout and when.
